PAGASA Says LPA, Shear Line, and Amihan to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that LPA, shear line, and amihan will bring rain over parents of the country.

On Tuesday (December 9, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area shear line and amihan will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA state weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that the LPA formerly known as ‘Kabayan’ was last spotted 290 kilometers west-southwest of Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur. It will continue to move toward the southern part of Palawan.

Kabayan is the eleventh storm in the country this year. It has a slim chance of developing into a storm.

The LPA and the shear line will bring scattered rains in Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy weather conditions Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley and isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

The three weather systems cause big waves making the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao a no-sail zone for small sea vessels.
