From traditional to digital

Lotto goes online with E-Lotto where betting becomes more convenient and easier for people. The PCSO announced the start of the test run of the online lottery system, hence, this will pave the way for more accessible playing to Filipinos 18 years old and above. This will provide people with a safe, modern, and accessible approach to gaming.

The web-based registration has been opened and in registration, the person will need to present Philippine government-issued ID and a Philippine SIM number.

PCSO General Manager Mel Robles says this is a significant milestone. The dry run will take a year and players can place bets online and receive their winnings electronically. E-lotto’s primary goal is accordingly the convenience, security, and transparency of the players.

Despite going digital, the traditional way of playing will remain and they believe that this will not be affected.

Robles expressed, “When they have that e-lotto, lalung lumakas pa yung outlet. Why? Because lottery is jackpot-driven. The bigger the jackpot, more people will bet both online and the traditional.”

Pacific Online Systems Corporation (POSC) assured that the system is secured.

Meanwhile, the application will be available next year for download on Google Play and iOS platforms.
