In the CCTV footage, a man broke into a salon in Las Piñas City on Tuesday morning (December 12, 2023). Las Piñas City Police Station reported that the intrusion happened a little past 8 in the morning when the man entered the closed salon.

According to Las Piñas City Police Station PCol. Jaime Santos, the suspect went straight inside and headed to the salon counter, where he searched for the key to the cash box. He made away with P20,000, a day’s earnings for the establishment.

“When the complainant representative conducted an inventory of the supposed collection of this salon, she discovered an amount of P20,000 was missing,” Santos said.

The salon manager revealed that the suspect was a former employee who resigned from the job last month. The suspect also allegedly failed to return the salon key.

Lumipat siya ng ibang parlor. Once inside, he managed to open the cash box and took the cash with him then escaped,” explained PCol. Santos.

The police conducted a follow-up operation and initially went to the suspect’s address in Dasmariñas but found it vacant.

The suspect was arrested at a nearby salon where he had recently started working. P8,000 was recovered from him. He admitted to the crime, stating that he resorted to theft out of necessity.

The suspect will face inquest proceedings and be charged with theft.
