PAGASA Says Amihan and Easterlies Will Bring |Scattered Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that amihan and easterlies will bring scattered rains over parts of the country.

On Wednesday (December 6, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that easterlies will be affecting the eastern section of the country while the effects of the northeast monsoon will be felt in extreme Northern Luzon areas.

The easterlies will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Bohol, and Lanao del Sur.

“Samantala itong easterlies ay naaapektuhan pa rin ang malaking bahagi ng ating bansa kaya ngayong araw ay makakaasa pa rin tayo ng mainit na panahon sa bansa lalo na sa Visayas,” said weather specialist Aldczar D. Aurelio.

Possible floods or landslides are expected in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

“Itong nalalabing bahagi po ng Luzon kasama po ang rest of Luzon ay makakaranas po tayo ng mga isolated rainshowers at localized thunderstorms,” he said.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

“Itong northeast monsoon o amihan ay inaasahan nating lalakas at maapektuhan ang malaking bahagi ng Northern Luzon,” he added.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over extreme Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
