BAR Exam Results September 2023 – JUST RELEASED

The Supreme Court has released the BAR Exam Results September 2023 including the complete list of passers.

Updated (12/5/23) – BAR Exam Results September 2023 – The Supreme Court is targeting to release the licensure exam results by early December.

The BAR Exam Results September 2023 includes the list of passers and topnotchers, according to the Supreme Court.

BAR chairperson and Associate Justice Ramon Paul Hernando headed the digital bar exams for aspiring lawyers on September 17 (Sunday), 20 (Wednesday), and 24 (Sunday), 2023.

The licensure exams for aspiring lawyers were held at 14 local testing centers nationwide including San Beda University – Manila, University of Santo Tomas, San Beda College – Alabang, University of the Philippines Diliman, Manila Adventist College, University of the Philippines Bonifacio Global City, Saint Louis University, Cagayan State University,University of Nueva Caceres, University of San Jose – Recoletos, University of San Carlos, Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation, Ateneo de Davao University and Xavier University.

According to Bar Chairperson and Associate Justice Hernando, the 2023 BAR exam results are expected to be released before December 25, 2023 (Christmas Day).

“My team and I are eyeing the release of the results of the 2023 Bar examinations in early December, before Christmas Day,” Hernando said.


BAR Exam Coverage

  • Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises (25%)
  • Commercial and Taxation Laws (20%)
  • Civil Law (20%)
  • Political and Public International Law (15%)
  • Labor Law and Social Legislation (10%)
  • Criminal Law (10%)

Exam takers must have a general average of 75% and no grade lower than 50% in any subject to pass the BAR examinations. However, SC En Banc may adjust the passing percentage.

The 2023 BAR examination is the 121st licensure exams for all aspiring lawyers. It is the only licensure examination for professionals not regulated by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

BAR candidates who have failed three times are not allowed to retake unless they re-enroll, pass the usual fourth-year review coursework, and enroll in a pre-bar review course at an approved institution.

The Supreme Court is holding a special en banc session to open the sealed envelopes containing the names of passers.
