What’s the status of the contract between Vic Sotto and GMA?
GMA Films president and GMA Network senior vice president Annette Gozon-Valdes revealed something about the contract between the network and veteran comedian-host Vic Sotto.
Vic has been working with GMA for many years already. Aside from their former noontime show on the Kapuso network, he was also doing sitcoms. The most recent project he did was the sitcom Open 24/7 with Maja Salvador and Jose Manalo.
Just recently, rumors surfaced that this show will be discontinued. It is because of a post from Director Chris Martinez about the collaboration between TV5 and MZet TV Productions, the production company owned by Bossing Vic.
However, in a recent interview, based on the article in the Philippine Star, Gozon-Valdes made a statement about Vic Sotto’s contract with the GMA network. She said that the veteran comedian-host renewed his contract with them just recently.
The TV executive also revealed that Vic renewed his contract for a new season which was their agreement in the past years. Before his sitcom with Maja and Jose, Vic starred in Daddy’s Gurl which aired from October 2018 until May 2023 with his EAT co-host Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza.
Gozon-Valdes is aware that there have been rumors circulating that Bossing Vic might leave GMA. However, she highlighted the good relationship between the network and the comedian-host that has been existing for 28 years already.
“Maganda ang relationship namin kay Vic. Ang tagal na naming magka-trabaho, 28 years na ‘yun,” the TV executive said.
Meanwhile, Vic Sotto is expecting his second baby with his wife Pauleen Luna. Initially, Pauleen refused to talk about her second pregnancy. However, in her recent social media posts, the actress-host has been flexing her baby bump. Last month, the Sotto family went to Japan for a vacation.
