Maine Mendoza is a Filipina actress, host, endorser, writer, and businesswoman who is dubbed “Phenomenal Star” in the Philippine entertainment industry.

She was first known for being the “Yaya Dub” in Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye. The actress is currently known as one of the in-demand female celebrities in the Philippines. The celebrity is now married to actor-turned-politician Arjo Atayde.

Maine Mendoza Personal Background

Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza was born March 3, 1995, to Mary Ann and Teodoro Mendoza. She finished her bachelor’s degree in hotel, restaurant, and institution management majoring in culinary arts at De La Salle-College of St. Benilde. Maine has two brothers and two sisters and all their names start with “Nico.”

Before making it big in the entertainment industry, Maine was known on social media for doing Dubsmash on Facebook.

Maine Mendoza Showbiz Career

Maine rose to fame through the Eat Bulaga segment Kalyeserye where she was first known as Yaya Dub. She was paired with Alden Richards and their phenomenal loveteam was called AlDub. They did an iconic benefit concert on October 24, 2015, titled Tamang Panahon which was held at the Philippine Arena.

Reportedly, that concert was able to raise P14 million and was donated to AlDub Library Project. Along with Alden, she did several endorsement projects. After the loveteam, one of the biggest endorsements that she did was for MAC cosmetics.

Aside from acting, Maine recorded the song Imagine You and Me for her and Alden’s 2016 movie with the same title. She was the one who wrote the lyrics while Vic Sotto created the music with the help of Jimmy Antiporda for the song arrangements.

The Phenomenal Star writes on her own blog site called Pessimistic Optimist Bella since 2012. In October 2017, she released her first autobiographical book entitled Yup, I Am That Girl, and in just four hours, her book sold out.
