What will happen to the Kapuso sitcom of Vic Sotto?
Rumor has it that the sitcom Open 24/7 of veteran comedian Vic Sotto on GMA will be discontinued.
Vic has done several sitcoms or comedy shows over the course of his career in the entertainment industry. He is considered one of the pillars of comedy in showbiz. His current show is on the Kapuso network with Maja Salvador and Jose Manalo.
However, rumors surfaced just recently that Vic’s show will no longer continue airing on GMA, based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon.
Entertainment writer Nitz Miralles shared that the next show that Vic Sotto will have will be on TV5. It was said that the MQuest Ventures of the Kapatid network will be the partner of Mzet, Vic’s production company, in his next TV project.
Miralles also mentioned that they saw the post that Director Chris Martinez shared on social media. “Coming in 2024! An all-new, all-out comedy show! From MQuest Ventures and MZet TV Productions! Soon on TV5!” the caption stated.
It was said that the new show will be titled Mana Mana. As of this writing, Vic’s co-stars in the this show were not yet revealed. Miralles shared that there had been fans who requested that Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde will be included in the show.
The showbiz writer added that there were also who requested to include Atasha Muhlach in the cast, so that she will also have an acting project aside from her hosting stint on E.A.T.
With this, Miralles said that it appeared that Vic Sotto will just wait the end of his comedy show on GMA and transfer to TV5. As of writing, no further details yet were revealed about this show.
Aside from his future sitcom, Vic is also hosting his noontime show on TV5 with his fellow veteran comedians Tito Sotto and Joey de Leon.
