PAGASA Says Northeast Monsoon to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the northeast monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Tuesday (November 28, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration reported that northeast monsoon and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Patrick Del Mundo reported that amihan will bring rains over parts of Northern Luzon. It will bring cloudy skies with rains over Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela.

“It is expected that frequent rainfall will occur in the eastern parts of southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, still due to the influence of easterlies,” Del Mundo said.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.

“Aasahan natin ang maulap na kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan, pagkidlat, at pagkulog sa northern Samar at eastern Samar dahil pa rin sa epekto ng easterlies. Possible nga ang malakas na pag-ulan ngayong araw,” he explained.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon will be moderate to rough. Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.

The weather agency warned the public of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

“It is advised for our compatriots setting sail along all coastlines of Luzon to be cautious as there is still a possibility of experiencing moderate to high waves today,” he added.

A Gale warning was raised in the coastal areas of Batanes, Ilocos Norte, and Cagayan including Babuyan Islands.
