PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that three weather systems will prevail over most parts of the country.

On Friday (November 24, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Three weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio reported that northeast monsoon or amihan, the shear line, and easterlies will bring rainy weather nationwide on Friday.

“Makakaranas pa din tayo ng kalat kalat na pag-ulan at kasamang thunderstorm, dulot po ‘yan ng northeast monsoon o amihan, shearline at easterlies,” Aurelio said.

The shearline and easterlies will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Bicol Region, Aklan, Capiz, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.

The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather conditions over the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, and Quirino,

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley. Similar weather condition is expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the seaboards of Batanes Ilocos Norte and the Northern coast of Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands will be moderate to rough. Gale warning was also raised in these areas, according to PAGASA.

Warnings are for sea areas within 30 nautical miles from the coast. Sea travel is risky for small seacrafts,” PAGASA said.

Amihan is the cold wind blowing from Siberia. Shearline is the convergence of cold and warm winds while easterlies are the warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
