Carwash Employee Stabbed by Co-worker During Altercation
A carwash employee lost his life after being stabbed by a co-worker in Barangay Greater Fairview, Quezon City on Monday evening (November 20, 2023).
According to the Quezon City Police District – Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU), the 32-year-old victim was killed inside the barracks of the carwash shop where both he and the 24-year-old suspect worked.
The police revealed that the suspect and the victim were employed at the same carwash. The victim suffered stab wounds in different parts of his body.
The CCTV footage showed the victim, assisted by another man, entering the barracks. The tragic incident that happened inside was not captured on video.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) quickly arrested the 24-year-old suspect in a follow-up operation on Tuesday afternoon (November 21). A kitchen knife believed to be the weapon used in the crime was recovered at the crime scene.
The cops uncovered during preliminary investigations that there had been previous disputes between the suspect and the victim. The suspect, allegedly fueled by alcohol, committed the crime. The culprit is currently in the custody of the CIDU and is expected to face murder charges.
During the investigation, the police identified the suspect, Rodolfo Hinalas Jr., as the last person seen with the victim. It was disclosed that the motive for the crime was an old grudge stemming from an altercation last month when the victim disrespected the suspect’s sister.
Even though the previous incident was resolved, the suspect had hatred toward the victim.
“Ginawa ko yun dahil ano bastos siya na tao talaga e. Kung hindi pa siya bastos na tao, hindi ko siya masaksak. Sobra na siya e. Kapag malasing na siya sir lahat kaaway niya,” said Hinalas.
Police Major Don Don Llapitan of the QCPD-CIDU stated that the suspect is facing murder charges. The arrest was made along Commonwealth Avenue, and the suspect admitted to the crime, citing the victim’s disrespectful behavior as the motive.
