Reason Why Taylor Swift Postpones Rio de Janeiro Concert

Here’s The Reason Why Taylor Swift Postpones Rio de Janeiro Show

TAYLOR SWIFT – Find out why American superstar Taylor Swift decided to postpone her Rio de Janeiro concert.

Due to scorching temperatures in Rio de Janeiro, Taylor, the renowned American artist, decided to reschedule a concert on Saturday. This decision followed the tragic death of a 23-year-old fan at her previous night’s performance amidst extreme heat, with the heat index reaching a staggering 59 degrees Celsius on Friday during the inaugural “Eras Tour” show in Brazil, attended by a crowd of 60,000 people.

“I’m writing this from my dressing room in the stadium,” the superstar posted on IG Saturday. “The decision has been made to postpone tonight’s show due to extreme temperatures in Rio.”

“The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers and crew has to and always will come first,” she added.

In videos shared on social media from the preceding night, Taylor Swift was captured attempting to assist fans by sending assistants to distribute water bottles and even personally tossing one to the audience.

Ana Benevides passed away on Friday evening at the Nilton Santos stadium in Rio de Janeiro due to cardiorespiratory arrest during Taylor Swift’s concert, as reported by the Rio Health Secretariat. Despite attempts to revive her, the young woman could not be saved, prompting an investigation. The agency stated that, currently, the cause of death cannot be determined. The incident occurred amid an exceptionally intense springtime heat wave affecting much of central and southeastern Brazil.

Based on a report from ABS-CBN, the fans criticized the venue’s management of the high temperatures, claiming that officials had barred them from bringing in water.

Yasmin Monteiro, aged 24, shared that she attempted to enter the stadium on Saturday with five liters of water, just before the announcement of the concert’s postponement.

“The lack of organization yesterday was absurd. What happened to the young woman was a crime due to bad organization. You just don’t deny anybody water.”

On Saturday, Brazil’s Ministry of Justice released a resolution mandating that organizers of events ensure that attendees have access to potable water.

“It is unacceptable that people suffer, faint and even die due to lack of access to water,” Justice Minister Flavio Dino said.

In her statement, Taylor expressed that she would refrain from addressing the woman’s death on stage, stating, “I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it.”

“I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends,” she added.
