Person of Interest in Victory Liner Incident Says Issues Between Him and Victim Were Settled
VICTORY LINER INCIDENT – A person of interest has come forward and clarified that the issues between him and the victim were already settled.
In a recent shooting incident inside a bus in Caranglan, Nueva Ecija, a person of interest, identified as the son of the female victim, insists that the issues between him and his mother had already been resolved.
The police labeled the son as a person of interest due to an existing conflict between him and the victim, which had led to the filing of a carnapping charge. The son, on the other hand, was able to post bail, but the legal issues of the case prevented a full disclosure of the situation.
However, Fajardo declined to reveal further details to avoid compromising the ongoing investigation.
“Medyo malalim po yung naging alitan ng mag-ina maliban po dito sa alleged na pagfa-file ng kaso ng carnapping, but I’m not at liberty to discuss the other details para di po ma-compromise yung ongoing investigation,” Fajardo said.
The person of interest claimed that he and his mother have reconciled, having forgiven each other for past grievances.
Attorney Mark de la Peña, the son’s lawyer, expressed concern about his client being named a person of interest in the investigation into his mother’s killing. However, he emphasized that this is a normal part of the police investigation process.
“Nagwo-worry siya. Namatayan na siya ng nanay, tapos person-of-interest pa siya pero ipinaliwanag ko sa kanya na ito ay welcome development. Normal police investigation po ito,” said Dela Peña.
