The Pag-IBIG Fund is most popular for its Housing Loan offer. The state institution has helped countless Filipinos obtain residential properties in pocket-friendly schemes with a loan term that can be extended to up to 30 years.

Most cases have the Pag-IBIG Fund membership as mandatory by employer or the company that an individual is working for. Here are some of the cases of mandatory membership to the government institution:

  • employees in the private sector who are 60 years old and below and on permanent, temporary, or provisional status
  • government employees with GSIS coverage
  • self-employed individuals earning at least P1,000 per month up to 60 years of age
  • land-based overseas Filipino workers (OFWs)
  • sea-based OFWs
  • household helpers, gardeners, cooks, drivers, etc. with a salary of at least P1,000 per month
  • Filipinos employed by foreign-based employers
  • uniformed personnel like members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)

The Pag-IBIG Fund has also opened its membership for voluntary memberships. This case includes the following:

  • non-working spouse of registered members of the Pag-IBIG Fund
  • religious group and leaders
  • public officials and employees without GSIS coverage
  • pensioners, investors, and individuals with passive income
  • Filipino employees of foreign government or international organization

Pag-IBIG Fund members who have updated accounts may be eligible to apply for the Pag-IBIG loans that serve several purposes. A member may apply for any of the following financial solutions offered by the state institution:

When a member hits retirement, there is an option to withdraw his/her total savings in the fund. It is open for both compulsory and option retirement cases. Here are the requirements for Pag-IBIG Retirement to claim savings on the case of compulsory retirement:

  • Application for Provident Benefits (APB) Claim (1 Original)
  • Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card/Loyalty Card Plus or one (1) valid ID of the member (1 Photocopy)
  • Order of Retirement (For members of AFP, PNP, BJMP, BFP) (1 Photocopy)
  • Statement of Service (For members of AFP) (1 Photocopy)
  • Service Record (For members of PNP, BJMP, BFP) (1 Photocopy)
  • SSS Employment History (as applicable) (1 Photocopy)

In the case of optional retirement, there is a different set of requirements for Pag-IBIG retirement to claim savings. Here are the documents that must be prepared and submitted to the Pag-IBIG Fund:

  • Application for Provident Benefits (APB) Claim (1 Original)
  • Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card/Loyalty Card Plus or one (1) valid ID of the member (1 Photocopy)
  • Certificate of Early Retirement (For private employees who are at least 45 years old) (1 Photocopy)
  • GSIS Retirement Voucher (For government employees) (1 Photocopy)
  • SSS Employment History (as applicable) (1 Photocopy)
