Bianca Umali is one of the new Sang’gres
Kapuso actress Bianca Umali shared how she prepared for her Sang’gre role in the new chapter of GMA’s fantasy series Encantadia.
The original Encantadia series which aired in the early 2000s featured Iza Calzado, Karylle, Diana Zubiri, and Sunshine Dizon as Sang’gres. Then, the series had a remake in 2016 which featured Sanya Lopez, Gabbi Garcia, Kylie Padilla, and Glaiza de Castro.
It was recently announced that the Kapuso fantasy series will have a new chapter and a new set of Sang’gres will be introduced.
The first Sang’gre that was introduced was Bianca Umali and based on the article in Bandera, this made the Kapuso actress so ecstatic. She will play the role of Terre, the long-lost daughter of Sang’gre Danaya who was portrayed by Sanya.
Having this big opportunity in her acting career, Bianca could not help but show gratitude to her home network. “Maraming salamat. No other words, paulit-ulit kong sinasabi na I am very thankful, of course, to my supporters,” she said.
She said that she did not ask for this project but it was given to her, and so this is something that really makes her very grateful. “Thankful to my network, kasi sa tiwala. I assure them they will not be disappointed. I will not fail anyone,” the Kapuso actress added.
Bianca also shared that she takes this project seriously, especially when it comes to her training for her role. She had to do some action scenes in the series. The actress said that her preparation for this series is like preparing for a Marvel movie.
“I am preparing my physique for it, I’m preparing my skills for it, and I have been studying everything about Encantadia,” the Kapuso star said. Bianca Umali also admitted that when Encantadia had a remake in 2016, she really wanted to be part of the project.
However, she was not called for the audition and she thought she was not even considered to audition. Then, she realized that she should not be sad about that because something was meant for her now.
Bianca also said that it was like the stars aligned for her because the role that was given to her was the daughter of Danaya, bearer of the Brilyante ng Lupa, who is the rational one among the four Sang’gres.
