PAGASA Says LPA’s Trough to Bring Rain Showers Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau has reported that the trough of a low-pressure area will bring rain showers to parts of the country.

On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update for the country. The trough of the low-pressure area will continue to affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area was spotted 750 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression.

The low-pressure area’s trough will cause rain showers over Visayas, Mindanao, and parts of Luzon. It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Palawan, including the Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Metro Manila, Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and CALABARZON will experience similar weather conditions. Moderate to heavy rains may result in flash floods or landslides in these areas.

The LPA’s trough and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon. Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Typhoon Bolaven was last located 2,310 km east of Southeastern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 190 kph.

The coastal water condition throughout the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
