Authorities Discover Two Snakes Inside Calumpang National High School in Laguna
WILDLIFE DISCOVERY – Two snakes have been captured inside the vicinity of Calumpang National High School in Nagcarlan, Laguna.
Two snakes, one identified as a Philippine cobra and the other as a python, were found on the school grounds, prompting an immediate response from the school’s administration and local wildlife experts.
The capture of these snakes was made possible through the united efforts of the school’s leadership and the intervention of a local personality known as the “Cobra Prince of Laguna,” Ian Florentin.
Upon the school’s request for assistance, Florentin and his team decided to investigate the stored wooden materials within the school’s storage facility. It was during this search that the two serpents were discovered.
The snakes were quickly turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for further examination and appropriate care. This incident demonstrates the importance of community collaboration and the involvement of local environmental experts in the preservation and protection of our natural surroundings.
One of the snakes was identified as a Philippine cobra, a species well-known for its venomous bite and dangerous capabilities.
The other was a python, which, while not equipped with the same deadly bite as the cobra, commands vigilance due to its size and tendency to scare people in the area.
We can safeguard the safety of our communities in the face of possible threats posed by wildlife by vigilant observation and collaborative actions, while also raising knowledge about the essential roles these creatures play in our environment.
