Cops Apprehend 2 ‘Jumper Boys’ Caught Stealing from Truck

Cops have arrested two “jumper boys” in Tondo, Manila, who were apprehended in the act of stealing items from a truck that had become stuck in traffic.

The arrested suspects are now facing charges of alarm and scandal, illegal possession of firearms, and theft. To prevent further criminal activities in the area, the police authorities have announced plans to enhance police visibility.

TONDO, MANILA – Police authorities successfully apprehended two ‘jumper’ boys who were caught stealing valuables from a truck.

In a viral video, these ‘jumper’ boys can be seen leaping into a truck that was stuck in traffic to pilfer valuable items, including a toolbox and scrap metals, as reported by Raxabago Police Station chief, PLtCol. Roberto Mupas.

One of the arrested suspects is a 23-year-old junk collector who caused a disturbance in a section of Mel Lopez Boulevard just last week. During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect had attacked the driver with a steel pipe.

“Nanghihingi po kami ng barya sa mga truck kaso naudyukan lang po talaga ako na kunin ‘yung lona sa may truck. Hindi ko naman lubos akalain na lalaban din ‘yung driver,” the suspect said.

Aside from charges related to alarm and scandal and illegal possession of firearms, the suspect will also face theft charges.

Meanwhile, another suspect was apprehended during a commotion at Building 19, Aroma Compound in Tondo, where he was caught on camera removing a cable from the cargo.

The police authorities view the arrest of these suspects as a significant achievement, as their actions had been causing disruption in the area.

“At the same time medyo delikado ‘yan sa part ng mga suspek kasi pwede sila madisgrasya dyan e, mahulog, masagasaan,” Mupas added.
