Joey de Leon wrote a poem for his bashers
Henyo Master Joey de Leon cited the statement that Bubble Gang star Michael V, also known as Bitoy, to answer his detractors after his viral “lubid joke.”
Joey’s statements have become controversial many times already. The recent one happened during an episode of E.A.T.‘s Gimme 5 segment. He mentioned that “lubid” is among the things being put on the neck.
This did not sit well with many netizens, especially those who are pushing for mental health awareness.
Amid this issue, Michael V had a meaningful speech when he accepted his award during the 2023 Philippine Film Industry Month celebration with the theme “Tuloy Pa Rin Ang Tawanan.” Other comedians who received the same recognition were Vice Ganda, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, Ai-Ai de las Alas, and Eugene Domingo, based on that article in PEP.
Bitoy jokingly opened his speech with this statement, “Oh, this one I had to write this down. Kasi mahirap na, baka magkamali ako — ma-bash ako, mag-viral pa ako.”
The Bubble Gang star said that nowadays, being funny is a big challenge. He said that his fellow comedians can relate to this. “Kahit po ang punchline mo ay tungkol sa pagiging superhero at walang kinalaman sa race, sa gender, sa mental at sa physical health ng isang tao — yun at yun po ang pupunahin ng mga netizens na mga dalubhasa na ngayon,” Michael V said.
In a recent post on X (Twitter), Joey de Leon featured the thought of Bitoy’s statement. The Henyo Master created a poem out of that.
“Mahirap na ngayong magpatawa. Marami na ngayong namumuna, Tingin nila mas magaling sila, Sila ang dapat narito pala! Eh ano ang tawag sa kanila? Kung sa lugar mo’y ang tagal mo na? Mas kwela sila palagay nila Ayunnn…INGGITERO’T INGGITERA!” the veteran comedian-host said.
Meanwhile, after that viral “lubid joke” that Joey had, the management of E.A.T. apologized to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) which promised to investigate the said incident following the complaints it received.
