Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is a government agency tasked with the responsibility of coordinating, planning, and regulating various aspects of the National Capital Region (NCR) in the Philippines.

The agency aims to improve the quality of life for Metro Manila’s residents and ensure the region’s continued growth and prosperity. Their responsibilities include traffic management, disaster risk reduction and management, public safety and enforcement, waste management, urban planning and development, and flood control management.

Recently, the MMDA conducted a clearing operation against illegally parked vehicles and other road obstructions near the Batasan Pambansa in Quezon City.

During the operation, MMDA asked a motorcycle rider to pull over and discovered that he was driving without a license. The traffic enforcers initiated the necessary legal procedures in compliance with traffic regulations.

The violator decided to return home to get his driver’s license, leaving his wife behind. It was noted that the wife, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was also not wearing a helmet.

MMDA reminds the public of the importance of adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations when using the roads.

The agency’s clearing operation, which targeted illegally parked vehicles and various road obstructions, resulted in the issuance of tickets to approximately 32 motorists for various violations.

Driving without a valid license is considered a traffic violation and not only poses risks to the driver but also endangers the safety of other road users. Aside from penalties, such actions may lead to unexpected and inconvenient situations.

The social media users expressed their reactions to the rider’s action:
