Bugoy Cariño talked about being a teenage father
Actor Bugoy Cariño admitted that he felt “panghihinayang” for his career after he became a father at age 16.
Bugoy started his acting career as a child star. His cuteness easily captured the hearts of many viewers. He also showcased an acting caliber that promised a bright future. However, his acting career had to take a back seat unintentionally.
It is when the time came to portray a new role in real life – becoming a father to his daughter with EJ Laure. In the entertainment industry, it is known that Bugoy and EJ’s relationship became controversial.
The actor was accused of being a child grooming victim because his partner is several years older than him. In a previous statement, the actor admitted that there were challenges in becoming a father at a very young age. There was even a time when they thought of “ipalaglag ang baby.”
In a recent interview for his new movie Huling Sayaw with Belle Mariano, Bugoy Cariño expressed excitement for this project, based on the article in Bandera. He also hopes that through this, his acting career will continue to flourish.
He knows for a fact that his career was halted by the life decisions he made in the past. “Nu’ng time na iyon, iyon iyong peak ng career ko tapos nawala. Sobrang panghihinayang po. Sabi ko nga, siguro kaya ito binibigay sa akin ni Lord kasi kaya ko itong pagdaanan,” he said.
The young actor also admitted that he missed a lot of opportunities because of what happened in his life. “Totoo naman po kasi nagkaisyu po noon na nakabuntis ako. Maraming na-reject na project,” Bugoy said.
He also said he lost some projects but he is ready to focus now on his career. Bugoy Cariño also shared that he is happy that he will be able to share his passion for dancing once again. He said that even when he was a young boy, he already loved dancing.
