Class Suspensions Declared in These Areas for Wednesday (August 30, 2023)
WALANG PASOK – Various local government units declared class suspensions in several areas due to Typhoon Goring.
Typhoon Goring has brought inclement weather condition to various parts of the country over the past few days. The violent winds and incessant rains triggered flash floods and landslides in several areas.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) raised the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4 over the Babuyan Islands as Typhoon Goring regained its super typhoon status.
This classification emphasizes the severity of the typhoon and its potential to bring strong winds and heavy rains to affected areas.
On Wednesday, August 30, 2023, several areas in the country suspended classes due to the combined effects of Typhoon Goring and the southwest monsoon. Some areas also declared the cancellation of government works.
The move aims to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel, as well as the general public. These precautionary measures are in line with the government’s commitment to safeguarding the population during adverse weather conditions.

Meanwhile, Malacañang Palace has declared August 30, 2023 as a special non-working holiday in San Juan City to observe the Battle of Pinaglabanan. Work and class cancellations in both public and private schools have been imposed.
