For the birthday celebration of OPM icon Ogie Alcasid on Its Showtime, Michael V and Manilyn Reynes appear as his guests.
Ogie Alcasid’s birthday performance on “It’s Showtime” has both hosts and viewers screaming!
On Saturday, madlang people were able to witness another historic event on Showtime as the “Pepito Manaloto” stars graced the noontime show as they sang some of Ogie’s hit songs.
The singer-songwriter celebrated his 56th birthday. He offered the viewers a special number with his two long-time Kapuso friends – Manilyn Reynes and Michael V. Their presence made the whole celebration more eventful.
They call themselves “OctoArts babies” and they have been friends for over three decades already. Alcasid sang his classic hit song “Pangako” with Reynes and it happens that she co-wrote the song with him.
“Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang” was the song the celebrant sang with “The Genius” and their performance was added with some comedic acts that were enjoyed by the viewers.
In the show, they recalled some of their fondest memories and Michael recalled the one-moment Alcasid did not let him win in a rap contest. As for Reynes, she also shared a funny story about him.
She recalled that he was her guest in her first major concert but he came up on stage forgetting the lyrics. But kidding aside, she wished her good friend to have more blessings in his life.
“Sana i-bless pa ni God yung kind of heart mo. Kasi, hindi lang naman yung mga katrabaho mo yung natutulungan mo, alam kong marami pa kayong mag-asawa na natutulungan. Tuloy-tuloy n’yo lang yun,” the actress said.
As for Bitoy, he wished him better health and relationship for him to have a longer career in the industry. He said during the said episode, “Better health para mas tumagal pa yung career niya dito sa industry. Better relationship with his wife Regine and of course, inner peace. Kailangan mag-relax nito paminsan-minsan.”
