The Calamity Loan offer of the Social Security System is designed to help the members in times of natural disasters. Typhoons that trigger flood, earthquakes, hurricane, etc. can result to damages in properties to as much as loss of lives. The SSS wants to be able to help its members in recovering.

The SSS Calamity Loan offer is usually extended by the state-run social insurance agency along with an announcement. It is offered to members who are living or working in areas that were officially declared under a State of Calamity.

The Social Security System has set specific qualifications for eligibility to the loan offer. To be qualified for the SSS Calamity Loan, here are the considerations:

  • residing in an area declared under a State of Calamity by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC)
  • registered on the My.SSS portal
  • has posted at least 36 monthly contributions
  • has not availed of final benefits
  • has no outstanding balance in CLAP or the SSS Loan Restructuring Program (LRP)
