Paolo Contis said that he is also fond of throwing green jokes
Kapuso actor Paolo Contis admitted that he is being careful about his jokes on GMA’s noontime show Eat Bulaga.
In recent weeks, noontime shows It’s Showtime and E.A.T. became controversial due to the issue concerning the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB). The agency summoned the producer of the Kapamilya noontime show because of Vice Ganda and Ion Perez’s cake scene.
With this, MTRCB chair Lala Sotto was criticized for releasing a summon for It’s Showtime but not for her father Tito Sotto for kissing his wife Helen Gamboa on national TV.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, Paolo Contis shared his thoughts on things being restricted during live shows.
The actor said that he is aware that he needs to be careful about what he says on air. He said that he always throws green jokes as well but on TV, he said, “Sobrang maingat ako.” His conscious effort not to watch out for his words came after what happened on It’s Showtime and EAT.
“Actually, may mga jokes like for example sa EB Happy, may mga ginagawa akong jokes na habang niri-rehearse, sandali, sandali, huwag na lang nating gawin ‘yan,” Paolo said.
He added that his words might be not a big deal for him but it is a challenge when you think about the system. With this, it is just better to be safe. Even though there are trending jokes, Paolo said that he is choosing not to ride on the fad because he is aware that there are eyes that tend to be critics.
“So, responsibilidad mo rin na kung para sa ‘yo wala kang nao-offend o para sa ‘yo hindi. E paano kung meron? So, dun ka na lang sa pinaka-safe, bakit hindi?” the Eat Bulaga stressed.
Meanwhile, Paolo Contis shared in an interview that he sees himself marrying his girlfriend Yen Santos. However, this will not happen anytime soon because he wants to fix certain things in his life first.
