PAGASA Weather Update Today Says Habagat to Bring Rain Showers Over Most Parts of the Country

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau has reported that the southwest monsoon will bring rain showers to parts of the country.

On Monday (August 14, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update for the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon will impact Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. This monsoon will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to the Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Palawan.

Habagat will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to the Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon, as well as Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country.

Thunderstorms are expected to occur over Zambales, Cavite, Rizal, and Quezon within the next two hours. Metro Manila, particularly in Taguig, Las Piñas, Manila, Quezon City, and San Juan, as well as Morong in Bataan, are already experiencing thunderstorms.

Weather specialist Obet Badrina announced that the rest of Luzon will have hot and humid weather. No tropical cyclones are expected to develop or enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next few days.

The weather agency has warned the public about flooding or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms. Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions along the seaboards of Luzon will be moderate to rough.

Visayas and Mindanao will have slightly to moderately surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau. PAGASA did not issue a gale warning for any parts of the country.
