Change of heart? Herlene Budol will still join a pageant.
“Magandang Dilag” actress Herlene Budol changes her mind about joining beauty pageants and this is what she said about it.
From being a contestant to a beauty queen and actress, people have witnessed this growth of Herlene Budol a.k.a Hipon Girl in her career. She is under the GMA network and is currently working on her first project in the lead role.
She joined the Binibining Pilipinas 2022 pageant and she got the most special awards. She was also the pageant’s first runner-up.
The recent pageant she joined was Miss Grand PH 2023 where she almost backed out. In a previous article, Herlene shared that she almost backed out from the Miss Grand pageant because she was anticipating that she will not be the winner and the critical comments she received.
However, she still pushed through with encouragement from her manager and with the desire of having something to prove to herself.
After her win as Miss Tourism World in Miss Grand, she announced that she will be signing off from joining beauty contests but shortly after, she expressed a change of mind. Recently, in an interview, she explained why she will not give up her career in beauty pageantry yet.
According to her, she was just signing off because she is not going to compete in the Miss Philippines Tourism pageant. However, in a vlog, she announced that she will be resigning for good because she realized that she is not capable of representing the country on the international stage.
Herlene is not competing in the international Miss Philippines Tourism pageant due to franchise licensing matters.
And now, after changing her mind, she expressed, “Sinabi ko po na ‘I’m signing off’ kasi wala pa po akong Miss Philippines Tourism na ipagdadayo ko po. Kumbaga, wala pa pong franchise na kukuha d’un sa international na paglalabanan ko. After n’un, lalaban pa rin ako sa international.”
Based on her interview in Dapat Alam Mo! with Kim Atienza and Susan Enriquez, she said that after this, she will take a rest and put her focus on making herself smarter and praying.
