Maine Mendoza says “no government funds will be used” for their Europe trip
Actress-host Maine Mendoza asserted that the follow-up report that Inquirer.net published about her and her husband actor-politician Arjo Atayde’s trip to Europe.
On August 1, Inquirer.net published an article about the couple’s scheduled trip to Switzerland, Italy, and Greece. The article was written by Anne Pasajol. It was stated in the article that this will be an “official trip” as Arjo will do his duty as the Vice Chairperson of the Special Committee in Congress on Creative Industry and Performing Arts.
This did not sit well with Maine as for her, this was misleading and false. The Phenomenal Star insisted that they will spend their own money on this trip.

Inquirer.net published a follow-up article on August 2 stating that the news outlet is standing by the story it previously published. It was also stated that their claim that the trip is “official” is “backed by documents and obtained from highly-placed sources.”
In her post on X (Twitter) on August 2, Maine Mendoza insisted that the article is “still misleading and lacking context.” For her, the article suggested that government funds will be used for her and Arjo’s trip to Europe.
The EAT host also stressed that Inquirer.net should clarify where their trip falls under as there are two kinds of “official travels.”
Maine once again stressed her point that their trip is at personal expense, 100 percent, and that they will not be using the government fund for this. The actress-host also said that she hopes that the news outlet will insert this information in its article.
Here’s what Maine wrote in her post on X (Twitter).
The article is still misleading and lacking context. It insinuates that this trip is at government expense. There are two kinds of official travels and I hope you include that in your article and where this trip falls under. I will probably be asked to delete this again but I shall say it again one last time, EVERYTHING is at PERSONAL EXPENSE. 100%. No government funds will be used. Hope you can insert that somewhere in your article. Salamat.

In the comment section of her post, Maine Mendoza received support from her fans. Here are some comments.
