Art Atayde, the dad of Arjo Atayde, shared this funny story
Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza‘s buko pie joke was revealed during her wedding with actor-politician Arjo Atayde and this was done by the latter’s father Art Atayde.
Maine is known for being close to the Atayde family even before she and Arjo got engaged. For several instances, Arjo’s mom, veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez, would share posts about Maine and their bondings.
Previously, Sylvia shared candid photos of Maine and Art. The veteran actress said that her husband and her now-daughter-in-law would always bully each other. They would always laugh at each other’s jokes.
Sylvia also excitedly welcomed the Phenomenal Star into their lives even before the wedding happened. She even organized a bridal shower party for Maine Mendoza.
The wedding that happened on July 28, 2023, was a star-studded one. Everyone is definitely happy for the newlyweds. The guests also had a lot of fun when Art gave his speech to the couple.
Twitter user @jhoeyjj shared a video clip of Art’s speech in which he shared a funny story about his daughter-in-law. He said that he asked Arjo Atayde if the buko pie of the other girl is better and this was followed by a loud laughter.
Maine was smiling with her eyes closed and then, she looked at her father-in-law. “Being a good son and an honest boyfriend, he told Maine what I said,” Art continued.
After Arjo shared with Maine what his father said, the Phenomenal Star did a funny thing. Art said that they got another buko pie and this came from Maine. The delicacy came with a note.
“Hope you enjoy the buko pie Tita Sylvia, Ria, Gela, and Xavi, except Tito Art,” Arjo’s dad shared what Maine wrote in the note that came with the buko pie. With this, Art said that at the back of his mind, he said, “Patay si Arjo, fighter ito.”
