Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza said that the report about her and her husband actor-politician Arjo Atayde’s Europe trip after their wedding is “misleading and false” and this received a reaction from news outlet Inquirer.net.
Maine and Arjo got married on July 28, 2023, in Baguio City. Days after their nuptial, Inquirer published a write-up stating that the couple is set to go to Switzerland, Italy, and Greece.
The article claimed that this was part of Arjo’s “official trip” as the Vice Chairperson of the Special Committee in Congress on Creative Industry and Performing Arts. It was also stated in the report that the couple will attend the 76th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland for Arjo’s film Topakk.
On Twitter, now named X, Maine Mendoza slammed the news report. She said that the headline is “misleading and false.”
“Arjo will go to Locarno as his film is part of the Locarno film fest. Our personal trip after that is at personal expense… out of our own pockets,” the EAT host stressed. She also told netizens to stop being impulsive in expressing comments without checking the real story.
“Mema minsan. Pati kayo nagpapaloko sa maling balita at impormasyon. Sayang ang pagiging ‘woke’ kung lahat nalang papaniwalaan,” the wife of Arjo Atayde said. The Quezon City first district representative, on the other hand, said that the article is “disappointing.”
