OWWA SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINE – Here is a guide on the filing of requirements for aspiring scholars of the OFW Dependents Scholarship Program (ODSP).
The ODSP is just one of the many scholarship offers of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration or OWWA for the beneficiaries of the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). It is open for the beneficiaries of OFWs who earn USD 600 and below every month.
The OFW Dependents Scholarship Program (ODSP) offer is for incoming college students as well as those who are already in their 2nd-5th year in college. There are different sets of eligibility requirements among scholars depending on the year level:
For incoming first year college students:
- Single
- Grade 11 graduate (Incoming Grade 12 / currently enrolled as Grade 12)
- Not more than 21 years old
- With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% in all academic and non-academic subjects during the last school year attended in full load
For those in their 2nd to 5th year in college:
- Single
- Not more than 30 years old
- With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 80% in all academic and non-academic subjects during the last school year attended in full load
The OWWA scholarship application deadline is every first week of August or as prescribed by the Responsible Outgoing College Students (ROCS) as per the scheduled qualifying exam set by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
Usually, the filing of the scholarship application starts every June leading to the OWWA scholarship application deadline by August. There are documentary requirements for OWWA scholarship application that must be submitted by the aspiring scholars completely.
