Woman Stealing Crown and Pillow of a Saint in a Church in Pampanga Caught in Cam
A woman thief was caught on camera stealing the crown and the pillow of a saint in a church in Angeles City, Pampanga.
According to the report, the theft occurred at the Our Lord of the Holy Sepulcher Shrine, also known as the Apu Mamacalulu Shrine. According to church officials, the shrine was set to open at 5 a.m. for the first mass, but the lady pleaded to enter.
Initially, the woman in the CCTV tape was only praying in front of the saint’s enclosure. However, it can be noticed after a long time that she has swept away the crown and pillow.
She put the cushion into her skirt and hugged it out. Based on the report, it didn’t just take a crown and a pillow; it also stole holy water. The crown is significant, according to the Apu Mamacalulu Shrine, because of its historical and sentimental worth.
“It’s made of iron, maybe 30-40 years more than that… Although it doesn’t have that value talaga. Kaya lang it has a historical and sentimental value kasi matagal na kay apu ‘yun,” said Bobby Cortez, coordinator ng Apu Mamacalulu Shrine.
Meanwhile, after a few days, authorities tracked down and apprehended the suspect at his home in the neighboring town of Porac.
The crown and pillow she had stolen were returned to her by the authorities. The officials, meanwhile, are still seeking for the stolen stole and holy water.
