Lady Netizen Goes Viral for Flexing Weird-Looking Salted Egg “Itlog na pula ng ostrich”
A lady netizen goes viral and garnered reactions from the online community after flexing her “Itlog na pula ng ostrich”.
In the world of culinary delights, sometimes we stumble upon extraordinary discoveries that leave us both amazed and amused. Such was the case for Marie Manalo Calderon, an online uploader, who shared a photo on Facebook featuring her unique dish “Itlog na pula” (Salted Egg) that was as large as her palm.
Marie jokingly captioned the post, ““Itlog na pula ng ostrich charot” adding a touch of humor to the unusual find. She went on to share the story behind the egg, explaining that her mother had been offered the egg by a colleague in their office in Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
“Mother ko po ang bumili niyan, [may] nag alok po sa kanya sa office nila sa Sta. Cruz, Laguna. Galing daw po yan sa victoria. Kilala po kasi yung [V]ictoria sa itlog na pula,” Marie said.
The egg, according to her mother, came from Victoria—a place renowned for its red eggs. When Marie retrieved the egg from their refrigerator, she was astounded by its size. “Pagkuha ko po sa ref namin nagulat po ako ang laki haha Hindi ko din po alam bakit ang laki e,” she exclaimed.
The mystery surrounding the egg’s size only added to the intrigue and excitement of her culinary adventure.
While ostrich eggs are not commonly seen in everyday markets, they are known for their impressive size and vibrant red yolks. Ostriches, the largest birds on Earth, lay eggs that can weigh up to 1.4 kilograms (3 pounds) and contain the equivalent of about 24 chicken eggs.
However, the egg type remains unclear as of this writing.
