Ogie Diaz shared his reaction to the sad expression of Herlene Budol when she was crowned Miss Philippines Tourism 2023
Actress-beauty queen Herlene Budol showed a sad face when she was crowned Miss Philippines 2023 and this received a reaction from talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz.
Herlene joined another pageant this year, the Miss Grand Philippines. Last year, she started her pageant journey by joining Binibining Pilipinas in which she won first runner-up.
For her second national pageant, Herlene did not get the highest title again. However, she was chosen to represent the Philippines in the Miss Tourism competition.
Netizens and pageant fans couldn’t help but notice the sad expression on her face when she was crowned. When a netizen asked about this, she replied, “Kase sinayang ni angkol kaya Sa ms tourism tayo tatambling ng bongga.”
The sad reaction she had elicited a reaction from Ogie Diaz. In a recent vlog that the talent manager-vlogger shared, his co-host Mama Loi asked him what he thinks about that expression.
“Nag-i-expect siya hindi ng tourism kundi siya ‘yong grand winner. ‘Yan ang basa ko sa mukha ah. Basa ko ‘yon ah, kasi ‘yon din naman ang basa ng iba,” Ogie said.
He added that Herlene Budol should not feel disappointed because she got a lot of awards anyway. Ogie also stressed that it seemed like the Kapuso star forgot to acknowledge her shortcomings and the things she was not able to do during the coronation night.
For the talent manager, Herlene should know her weaknesses, as well as her strength. He acknowledges the fact that the actress-beauty queen was the crowd favorite but her fans are not the ones scoring her performance.
Ogie Diaz also expressed a dislike for the informal approach of Herlene Budol when it comes to the question and answer portion.
“Ito ba ‘yong pwede nating kunin o bigyan ng parangal para i-represent tayo sa buong mundo, ‘di ba, eh pagka-ganon na tulad niyan sa Q and A, nagpapatawa pa, minsan alam mo wala rin naman sa timing, ‘di ba, wala sa timing ‘yong pagpapatawa,” Ogie said.
