Paul Soriano Will Not Direct This Year’s SONA?

RTVM will take care of SONA 2023 and not Paul Soriano? Here’s a statement.

PAUL SORIANO – A full house SONA is expected but Presidential Adviser on Creative Communications Paul Soriano may not be the director.

Last year, Presidential Adviser on Creative Communications Paul Soriano was at the helm of the first-ever Sta Of The Nation Address (SONA) of President Bongbong Marcos. He was grateful and honored for this rare opportunity.

To recall, Soriano and his wife Toni Gonzaga were the leading personalities as avid supporters of PBBM during the election period.

Before Soriano, directors Joyce Bernal and Brillante Mendoza also directed SONA during the time of former president Rodrigo Duterte. However, this year, it looks like he will not be the one at the helm of this event.

House Secretary General Reginald Velasco said on Monday that Radio Television Malacanang (RTVM) will be taking care of this year’s SONA. RTVM is the in-house coverage team of Malacanang.

According to Velasco, the veterans will be doing this as they already know what to do. When asked if Soriano is out from this year’s event, he responded, “I don’t know, but that’s the information we got in today’s final meeting na yan ng Inter Agency Committee taking care of the SONA preparations.”

He added that more than 2,000 guests have already confirmed their presence. Some of these confirmed guests include Vice President Sara Duterte and former Presidents Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo based on a report from ABS-CBN.

Former president Duterte is yet to confirm his attendance. Marcos Jr.’s second State of the Nation Address is set on July 24, 2023.

Meanwhile, guests are advised to wear Filipiniana and business attire. Filipino dishes will also be served to them.
