PAGASA Says ITCZ to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Conditions Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that overcast skies and rains are expected over some parts of the country.

On Monday (July 10, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda reported that Intertropical Convergence Zone will be affecting Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao.

“Itong mga pag-ulan na ito ay posibleng maging katamtaman hanggang sa malakas na pag-ulan na maaaring magdulot ng pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa,” Castañeda said.

The ITCZ will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm over Visayas as well as Northern Samar. Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Palawan will experience similar weather condition.

The ITCZ/Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Occidental Mindoro.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have the same weather condition. “Huwag pa din natin kalilimutan ang mga pananggalang natin sa mga biglaang pag-ulan,” Castañeda added.

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition throughout the entire country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau. No gale warning has been raised in any parts of the country.
