Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Antique, June 27, 2023

EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.4 magnitude quake in Antique today, Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few weeks ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Antique. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 4.4.

The earthquake that struck Antique today, Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 04:32 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Anini-y.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Antique was located at 10.16°North, 121.95°East – 030 km South 04° East of Anini-y. It had a depth of focus of 013 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording bureau, Instrumental Intensity I was recorded in Jordan, Guimaras and Culasi, Antique while Instrumental Intensity II was felt in Anini-y, Antique.
