Joey De Leon Reacts to Bashers Calling Them “Matanda”
Veteran comedian and TV host Joey De Leon reacts to bashers them calling them “matanda” to host a new noontime show.
Joey De Leon didn’t forget about his purported detractors who said they were ‘old’ and should leave the opportunity to others. The seasoned comedian responds to their critics in a Facebook live on TVJ’s official Facebook page.
While most people were heartbroken when TVJ said farewell to TAPE since they also left Eat Bulaga on GMA 7, some argue that it should happen now so Tito, Vic, and Joey can rest. Joey acknowledges this and states that no one can tell him how long he wants to work or for whom he is working.
“Oy ang tatanda niyo na, pagbigyan niyo na ‘yung mga bata. Well eto, para sa’yo to. Ikaw, pwede ka na palang ilibing. Kung ganu’n tumahimik ka na. Kasi ibiga sabihin, ito may galit na ako e. Kasi pakialamera o inggitera kayo. Inggitero o inggitera, Ang tao, hangga’t gustong gumalaw, hayaan mong gumalaw. Kung gusto mong magtrabaho, pabayaan mong magtrabaho,” he said.
“Pag nagkakaedad kayo, malalaman niyo yan pagtanda niyo. Kung umabot pa kayo. Kaya ka nagtatrabaho pagtanda mo, hindi na sa sarili mo ‘yun. Hindi na para sa sarili mo. Para na ‘yan sa ibang tao,” he added.
Joey also stated that they have cherished their 44 years of hosting the longest-running noontime show. He stated that if they could only have another life to taste the delight of that profession, they would do it.
“Alam mo, ‘pag naranasan mo ‘yung naranasan namin na 44 years. Nag-eenjoy kami. Kung pwede nga lang bang maranasan ang another life, para maranasan lang ‘yung enjoyment sa trabaho na ‘yun, iba yung trabaho namin e, yun dun pa lang yun. Hindi pa ‘yan yung in general na trabaho. ‘Wag mong pakialaman ang tao pag gustong magtrabaho,” he said.
