Cadet Brags “Anak ako ng isang rider” as he Flexes Dad’s Grab Uniform
A cadet named Juan Carlos Gonzales Soriano proudly announced “Anak ako ng isang rider” as he graduates from college.
“Are you a child of God?” This question echoed repeatedly within Soriano’s academy, especially during his plebe year (4th class). Being referred to as “Anak ng Diyos” meant being a child of military officials or wealthy parents.
The cadet never denied or felt ashamed of this question. In fact, he felt a sense of pride in responding, “Sir, no, sir! I am a son of a driver.”

During his graduation tradition in the academy, the students were given the opportunity to wear unique attire for their Last Mess as cadets. Many of his peers imagined themselves wearing clothes inspired by politics, favorite movie characters, or impersonating their idols.
However, Carlos wanted something special that would reflect his own identity. For his Last Mess as a Cadet, the latter decided to borrow the uniform of his father “Daddy Bayani Soriano” since he had a day off.
It was an honor for Soriano to wear his father’s uniform as it reminded him that throughout his cadet journey, Tatay Bayani was always there, working tirelessly to provide for the needs of their family.
This heartfelt tribute serves as a recognition of the unsung heroes in our lives – the hardworking fathers and parents who selflessly sacrifice to provide for their families. They face numerous challenges and dangers each day, yet their commitment and dedication never wavered.
To all the parents and guardians who work tirelessly behind the scenes, enabling dreams to become realities, this salute is for you. May your unwavering dedication continue to inspire future generations to reach for the stars and appreciate the sacrifices made on their behalf.
