Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola Allegedly Turn Down P2-M Offer of TAPE to Stay in Bulaga
The comedian duo Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola allegedly turned down the P2-M offer of the Television and Production Exponents Inc (TAPE) to stay in the Eat Bulaga.
The most recent episode of “Showbiz Now Na!”, veteran columnist Cristy Fermin mentioned the purported offer to former hosts Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola to stay in the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga. Cristy said what she allegedly received from her source regarding the Php2 million promised by TAPE to Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola.
Cristy went into depth on what TAPE would have offered the two ‘Eat Bulaga’ hosts if they had stayed on the show. Someone summoned Jose and Wally to accompany Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, according to her.
“May tumawag po kay Jose at Wally na huwag sumama sa Tito, Vic at Joey. At agaran daw po, padadalhan sila ng tsekeng tig 2 million peso,” she said.
“Hindi po nila pinatulan ‘yung two million pesos… at iyon na nga po isang grupo ang Dabarkads sumama sa Tito, Vic at Joey,” she added in her show.
However, just a few hours after TVJ left Eat Bulaga’s producer, TAPE Inc, the other hosts made public their resignation letter to TAPE. Jose and Wally, who decided to join TVJ, were among those who signed the letter.
Tito, Vic, and Joey appear to have won the appreciation of the two. On May 31, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon bid their final goodbyes to TAPE Inc. On June 7, TVJ stated that they, along with other former Eat Bulaga hosts, will be moving to TV5.
