PAGASA Says ITCZ to Bring Cloudy to Rainy Conditions Over Parts of PH
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy to rainy conditions over some parts of the country.
On Friday (June 16, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies and rain over Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao. Cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Northern Mindanao.
ITCZ is a weather system that forms when winds from the northern and southern hemispheres meet or converge.
“Patuloy ang pag-iral nitong ITCZ sa southern portion ng ating bansa – dito sa areas ng Palawan, Visayas, at Mindanao. Itong pinaka maaapektuhan ng ITCZ ay ang central at eastern sections ng Mindanao,” Villamil said.
The ITCZ and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy or fairer weather condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the western section of the country as well las the entire archipelago will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
