Woman in Mandaluyong Allegedly Robbed of P2.6-M Worth of Money by ‘Budol’ Gang
MANDALUYONG CITY – A 57-year-old woman in Mandaluyong City allegedly lost P2.6 million cash to ‘Budol’ gang.
In a baffling incident, a 57-year-old woman in Mandaluyong City found herself persuaded by individuals on the street to allow them access to her house, resulting in the theft of her belongings and a significant amount of money.
CCTV footage from May 31 captured the victim engaged in conversation with two women while walking along the street. Soon after, she was convinced to get into the suspects‘ car. For reasons unknown to the victim herself, she agreed to accompany them to her home to retrieve her belongings and money.
The victim claimed that she trusted the suspects because they had left some belongings with her earlier. However, the suspects never returned, taking with them her possessions and money, amounting to an estimated value of P2.6 million.
Authorities later tracked down the suspect’s vehicle to Cavite. While one man was apprehended, he denied any involvement in the scam. It has been revealed that his accomplice, who has a previous record of imprisonment for swindling, has also been identified.
This incident highlights the dangers of falling victim to “budol” gangs, a term used to describe individuals or groups who employ various tactics, such as deception and manipulation, to gain the trust of their targets before robbing them.
These criminals often prey on unsuspecting victims, taking advantage of their vulnerability or goodwill.
