Old Woman Falls Victim to “Budol-Budol” Gang Who Took P700K From Her

WOMAN – An old woman aging 77 years old lost around Php 700,000.00 after she was victimized by a “budol-budol” gang.

Sadly, in the Philippines, there are people who do ill actions towards another person just to earn money. One of these ill tactics is known as “budol-budol”.

Some victims of the said modus claimed that they were presented with scenarios that seemed really real while the suspects were trying to earn their trust. Most suspects would make themselves appear as people who have a lot of money.

These people seem to not exempt anyone just to be able to get what they want. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, a 77-year-old woman recently fell victim to “budol-budol” gang and lost around Php 700,000.00 of her money.

The victim was identified as alyas Goria. According to her, she was standing outside the bank waiting for a tricycle ride when a couple approached her. The couple pretended to be market vendors who knew her.

“Binati ako na parang kakilalang-kakilala ako. Ako raw po ay suki nila sa manok sa palengke tapos sabi po niya sa akin sa kabutihang-palad nakapag-abroad silang mag-asawa sa Canada,” the victim said during the DZMM’s Lingkod Kapamilya program.

Based on the report, the suspect offered her a ride and while they were in General Luna Street in San Mateo, a lady knocked on their car and asked for help. She was looking for logistics.

The man also pretended that he knew the owner of the logistics that the lady is looking for so he offered some help. She joined the ride.

“Huli ko na po narealize na lahat ng ‘yun ay drama,” the 77-year-old victim said based on the report. According to her, the man went out of the car and came back with another man.

The “budol-budol” gang accompanied the old woman to withdraw her money from the bank. They were able to take $14,000.00 or around Php 712,000.00 from the victim and as well as her jewelries, cellphones, and watch.

The money taken was the savings of the victim from the money given to her by her children. She supposedly plan to use it for a family business for her children. The authorities assured to help her regarding what happened as a CCTV footage revealing the faces of the suspects was recovered.
