Woman Suffers Injuries After Rescuing Dogs From Fire

A woman sustained injuries while rescuing her seven pet dogs from a fire that broke out in Barangay East Kamias, Quezon City, early Thursday morning (June 8, 2023).

Two dogs and ten cats were also feared to be trapped in the fire that engulfed apartment units and a neighboring house on K-6 Street.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is currently investigating the cause of the fire, which reached the second alarm. This means that at least 12 fire trucks were dispatched to respond to the incident.

Cielo Marie Rollon, the victim, suffered burns on her arms “Ang nakuha ko lang ‘yung mga aso ko sa labas, ‘yung nandun sa katabi kong matulog hindi ko alam kung nakatakbo siya,” Rollon recounted.

It was discovered that the neighboring house that caught fire had been standing for over six decades. The barangay officials assured their willingness to assist the affected residents.

The fire was extinguished shortly after 3 am having started just before 2 am
