Joey de Leon said that they also want to use the Eat Bulaga title which he created
Henyo Master Joey de Leon stressed that the content of a show is more important than its title.
Joey was the one who created the “Eat Bulaga” title. Following their decision to leave TAPE Inc, the veteran showbiz personality shared on his Instagram page the story of how he came up with the said title that has become part of the lives of many Filipinos.
With their decision to transfer to TV5, people are now asking if they will still use the same title. TVJ strongly believes that the title belongs to them but TAPE Inc is also holding on to this as the production company claimed that they have the trademark.
In a recent interview on One News PH, Joey de Leon was asked if they will also use the Eat Bulaga title. He said that it still depends but it seemed like they will fight themselves as the Kapuso noontime show is still using the same title.
On the other hand, the Henyo Master stressed, “Hindi importante yun eh. Ang importante content eh,” he said and jokingly added, “Pwede namang “Eat” lang eh.”
When asked about the iconic theme song of the longest-running noontime show, Joey said that TAPE’s new show is not using it because it was Vic Sotto who composed it.
Amid this Eat Bulaga saga, Joey shared that he is overwhelmed by the support that they receive, not just from the fans and avid viewers of their noontime show but also from people in TV5. “Thank you very much uli!” Joey de Leon said.
The TVJ will be joined by Maine Mendoza, JoWaPao, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Ryan Agoncillo, and the new addition to their family Carren Emol Eistrup Frederiksen.
