Transwoman Suffers Injuries After Allegedly Attacked by Member of LGBTQ Community
A transwoman was reportedly injured after being assaulted by several individuals believed to be members of the LGBTQIA+ community in San Fernando, Pampanga.
The incident occurred during a heated altercation that erupted on a street in the city. The commotion attracted attention with shouts and signs of violence.
According to reports, a transwoman identified as Kath Marie was the target of the alleged assault carried out by a group of individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community.
Witnesses revealed that she was brutally attacked, sustaining injuries to her head and being stabbed with a broken bottle. Kath Marie was subsequently rushed to the hospital and is currently in the ICU, receiving medical treatment for her wounds.
San Fernando City Police Station, under the leadership of Police Lt. Col. Preston Bagangan, has initiated an investigation into the incident. Two suspects have been identified thus far, and authorities are working to identify additional individuals involved in the assault.
Lt. Col. Bagangan assured the public that the police will exert efforts to hold all responsible parties accountable for their actions.
“Meron tayong na-identify na dalawa na suspek sa insidente, at sa susunod na mga araw ay magkakaroon pa ng mga identification ng ibang mga na-involve dito,” Bagangan said.
Acts of violence within any community, including the LGBTQIA+ community, are deeply concerning and should not be tolerated. It is crucial to emphasize that these incidents do not represent the views or behaviors of the entire LGBTQIA+ community.
