Authorities Discovered Remains of Missing Man After He Allegedly Meet His 17-Year-Old Chatmate
The lifeless body of a 35-year-old man was discovered wrapped in a bed sheet on a sugarcane plantation in Dingle, Iloilo.
The man had been missing for several days after meeting up with his underage chatmate in Dingle, Iloilo. The victim has been identified as Dave Ablanzar. The last confirmed sighting of Ablanzar alive was on Thursday last week.
According to the police, the victim encountered a 17-year-old individual at a festival in Pototan on May 8, 2023. Subsequently, the two began communicating as chatmates. It is alleged that on May 11, 2023, they agreed to meet at the residence of the 20-year-old suspect, Andrei Ticar.
“Habang nag-iinuman sila, niyaya ng victim ang minor na makipag-sex kaso nag-refuse ang minor. Doon na sila nag-grapple,” Dingle Municipal Police Station chief Police Captain Aileen Lacrite said.
The underage individual reportedly sought help from Ticar, which led to a horrifying turn of events. It is alleged that Ticar used a hammer to strike the victim. The suspects then allegedly choked the victim, wrapped him in a bed sheet, and callously discarded his body on the plantation.
After the incident, the suspects reportedly approached the police to provide information. However, they declined to sign the extrajudicial affidavit, which prevented their immediate detention.
In a peculiar twist, it was the suspects themselves who guided the authorities to the location of the victim’s remains, aiding in the investigation.
While the investigation unfolds, friends of the victim express disbelief that Ablanzar could be involved in the alleged crimes attributed to him. They stand firm in their conviction that their friend would not engage in such heinous acts.
“Kung sinasabi sila na ayaw nilang ibigay kay Dave ang sinasabi nila, come to think of it bakit nila papupuntahin doon? Kasi ang bottom line is may intention. Hindi siya nag-enter into relationship like may boyfriend. If ever may lalaki siya na close, best friend niya or close friend na hindi niya binabastos,” the victim’s friend Mar John Peronce said.
