Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Davao Occidental, May 13, 2023

EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 3.5 magnitude quake in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental today, Saturday, May 13, 2023.

Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few weeks ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Davao Occidental. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 3.5.

The earthquake that struck Davao Occidental, today, Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 03:07 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Jose Abad Santos.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Davao Occidental was located at 05.46°North, 126.52°East – 109 km South 62° East of Jose Abad Santos. It had a depth of focus of 009 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording bureau, no intensity was felt nor recorded at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas.
