Dog Died after Badly Beaten by a Security Guard at a University in Bacolod
BACOLOD CITY – A security guard at a university in this city was put in hot water after he allegedly badly beaten a dog to death.
A non-profit organization named Community Animal Rescue Efforts CARE, Inc. recounted a horrific event between a dog and a university security guard on Facebook. A vulnerable puppy died after being assaulted by a callous security officer, according to their post.
According to the organization, a concerned student from the aforementioned university stated that the dog attempted to enter the campus. As a result, the on-duty security guard attempted to stop the dog by kicking it out.
The dog became afraid and bewildered, and he began to defend himself until the guard grabbed this piece of wood and beat the dog on the head several times. The dog was already on the ground, helpless and unable to move after being hardly hit.
Despite the fact that the dog was unable to move, the guard continued to beat it up. According to the post, the children yelled at the guard to stop, but he didn’t care and proceeded till the defenseless dog died.
This heinous crime is illegal and punishable by law under RA 8485 “SEC. 6. Torturing any animal, failing to offer proper care, sustenance of shelter, or maltreating any animal is prohibited. According to the organization, this is certainly animal abuse.
“We don’t tolerate this kind of abuse and worse this happened inside a school. What kind of values are we teaching our students? Suspect should be held liable for this!!!” Care said.
