TAWAG NG TANGHALAN – Lyka Estrella of General Santos City is hailed as Tawag ng Tanghalan Year 6 Champion.

“Tawag ng Tanghalan” grand for the 6th season was held on Saturday, May 6. And the grand champion for the recent season is Lyka Estrella of General Santos City.

She became emotional and was taken by great surprise after her name was called the winner.

Estrella went through several stages before she was seen as worthy of the title.

The first stage of the competition was the solo performance where she sang Jona’s version of “Ngayon At Kailanman”. For the second stage, where she collaborated with one of the judges, she chose to perform Aerosmith’s “Dream” and for the third and final stage, she did a medley performance.

She sang the songs “Domino,” “Mamma Knows Best,” and “Nobody’s Perfect” in the final round.

These performances earned her the highest score which was 98.9 percent.

As the winner, she won the following prizes:

Php 1 million
house and lot worth Php 2.5 million
talent management contract with Polaris of Star Magic
recording contract with ABS-CBN Music
a trophy created by Toym Imao, a visual artist

The second runner-up was Nowi Alpuerto who got 95.1 percent. As the second runner-up, she gets to take home a cash prize of Php 200,000.00 while the third runner-up, Jezza Quigue, who received an 89.6 percent score, took home Php 100,000.00.
